After a few intense days of partying and being mostly hung over doing nothing during the days, we decided we should finally get our act together and do some touristy stuff. It was a bit late when we finally got up and moving, but we eventually managed to get on a subway all the way down to South Ferry, to go see the Statue of Liberty.

Soon after this picture, the cameraman got eaten. Good fun!
The last ferry to Liberty Island had already gone, so they were closing
up the ticket office. We ended up with tickets to a 45-minute river
cruise instead, and had to kill a couple of hours while waiting in
Battery Park. That was really not very hard.
A couple of russian girls wanted to draw caricatures of us, and we
thought: why not - only 2 dollars each! The caricatures were terrible
though, impossible to recognize either me or Chris, and not very funny
neither. Guess you really get what you pay for, this was not even worth
uploading the pictures!
But next to the girls was something exciting, these two guys were
carrying huge snakes, and letting people take pictures with the snakes!
I had never even touched a snake before, so that was very interesting.
That thing was heavy, rough and not as slippery as I had thought.
Finally the time for our river cruise had come, and we got some great
seats on the top floor. The cruise went up to Brooklyn Bridge, then
down to the Statue of Liberty, then a bit up the Hudson River. We took
about a million pictures, and had a very fun time on that boat,
definitely worth the $12 each!
